TigerLily is comprised of band members and friends, Carol McAvoy, Donna Hamilton, Gail Epps and Trey Mitchell, all residents of rural Central Virginia. The voices of these three rootsy women blend together in hair-raising three part harmony. Their voices are supported by tasteful acoustic guitar (Gail Epps), electric bass (Trey Mitchell) and light percussion (Donna Hamilton and Carol McAvoy). Expect to hear a wide variety of old favorites from artists like Nanci Griffith, Van Morrison and Emmylou Harris, but where TigerLily really shines is with their original material. Songs like "Rockfish River" recount lazy days by the river in the rural countryside and a cappella pieces like "Mary's Song" speak to the sacred bond shared by all women. Their self titled CD is a delightful blend of everything that makes their live performance such a treat.
